When is Enough, Enough?

In my experience, you can't forecast it.

It just happens.

The mental equations balancing between pain and pleasure, risk and reward, past and future, multiple identities, competing values... all come to a head.

Where somehow, some way... your system says, "Enough of this."

And you snap into permission-giving.

You snap out of subordinating your desires, intuition, gut instincts, and vision.

You snap out of suppressing your own next expression.

You snap out of distorting yourself into discomfort and depression.

You snap out of pacifying others.

You snap out of demoting yourself in life.

When Enough Becomes Enough

Yes, somehow you took a deep enough look, endured enough pain, felt enough low points, shrunk yourself down as low as you could go...

To finally snap into liberating yourself.

You open up to new possibilities.

New potential.

New experiences.

New ways of relating.

New ways of pursuing.

New ways of connecting in relationships.

New ways to move your body and energy.

New standards for yourself that once seemed so far away...

Instantly are upon you.

And then you say, "Never again. Never again will I lower myself to such a low standard."

Solo hiker standing on a forested ridge overlooking a sunlit mountain landscape.

And that, my friends, is you moving along the wheel of progress toward a more flourishing, exciting, and meaningful life.

Not because life suddenly changed.

But because, in that moment...

Enough became enough.

At the perfect time.
